Volunteers are an essential part of the Respite Care team. Their dedication and heartfelt care directly impact our children and families and the time they spend at Respite Care is a tremendous help to our staff.
- Ongoing – For those volunteers with a little more flexibility and the ability to schedule time on a regular basis; commitments are generally once a week for at least 3 consecutive months. This dedicated time allows volunteers to establish meaningful friendships with our kids and provides an extra set of hands for our staff. Please click here for an application.
- One-time – For those volunteers with busy schedules and limited availability, we offer the opportunity to get involved in a specific 1-day project or event with shifts that typically last between 4-6 hours. These opportunities include office assistance, house maintenance and help with fundraising events and enhancement programs like our annual prom. Please click here for an application.
- Seasonal – School’s out for summer and that means Respite Care is full of kids ready to play during June, July & August! Additional volunteers are always needed to help us during this busy time to assist with field trips and other supplemental programs that enable us to meet the increased demand for care. - Respitality – An afternoon or evening event where our families can bring their children who attend Respite Care along with their siblings, giving parents some much-needed free time. Volunteers make our Respitality program possible and these events are great for groups. Each volunteer is paired with a “buddy” and has only one job description, to play and have fun!
